Appointed by ASHGHAL, the Qatari Public Works Authority, on behalf of His Excellency, The Minister for Municipality and Planning, a concept, feasibility & master planning study for the redevelopment of Doha Zoo in Qatar was compiled by our team and our partners. A seventy-hectare site that included the existing Doha Zoo was included in the concept. A range of development options was modelled around the redeveloped zoo, a safari experience, a children’s farm, an indoor play centre and a themed hotel, including commercial uses and other attractions.

The study identified a range of concepts, costing US$ 100 million, US$ 250 million and US$ 500 million, with the lower cost option becoming the basis for the subsequent design tender.

Key achievements were the creation of an year-round concept and a “zoo in the park” approach.
