Conservation Aquarium Schönbrunn Zoo
As the winner of the public competition, ZOOQUARIUMDESIGN and its local ARGE partner Wehdorn Architekten were commissioned by Schönbrunn Zoo with the general planning of a new species conservation aquarium up to and including its realization. A new building will be carefully integrated into the historical ensemble, taking into account the historical visual axes. Visitors are guided through a meandering, weather-independent and The new underwater world has a barrier-free, approx. 400 m long visitor path.
The main attraction is a large Amazon, coral and shark tank, as well as several jellyfish spinning tops designed as tunnels, under the ceiling and standing in different dimensions.
The zoo will be linked to the aquarium via a generous range of restaurants and the new zoo store. It is and will remain an integral part of a visit to the zoo.
