The Budapest Zoo (Hungary) is planning a unique “covered zoo”, the so-called “biodome”, together with the local general planning team Mertek.

It is intended to present the native and historical biodiversity as a weather-independent attraction in a spectacular building envelop, which, as a self-supporting and transparent construction, sets new European standards.

Due to its planning and operating expertise ZOOQUARIUMDESIGN was commissioned in the course of the design planning to coordinate and specify the necessary framework conditions and parameters in a direct
exchange with the architects and engineers for the operation, the livestock husbandry and the design concept.
